Ledger's estate sells his Hollywood home

Ledger's estate sells his Hollywood home

Heath Ledger's estate has sold the late Australian actor's Hollywood Hills home, nicknamed The Treehouse, for $US2.5 million ($A3 million).

Ledger's trustees Layne David Dicker and Jeff Gillman arranged the sale to Miami-based company, Eighty Ten Properties LLC.

According to recently released Los Angeles County public records, the sale was completed in May.

Ledger bought the unique two bedroom, two bathroom post-and-beam home in 2005 for $US2.3 million from US TV talkshow host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres.

The 28-year-old Perth-born actor and star of 2008's box office hit, The Dark Knight, died in New York in January from an accidental prescription drug overdose.

It is unknown if Ledger's daughter, Matilda, who turns three next month, or his former fiancee, Michelle Williams, would share in the sale's proceeds.

Ledger filed his will in Australia in 2003, before he met Williams on the set of their 2005 film Brokeback Mountain and he did not update it to include the actress or Matilda.

The bulk of his estate was placed in a trust for his parents, Kim and Sally, and his three sisters.

Get rid of Quentin Arundel however anyone can. WHAT does he think he is??? He is nothing but a moron, menace and a complete waste of space. Shame he has no life. Go dig yourself a six foot hole, jump in, and do society a favor.

The little one is his next in line and the rest of his family are greedy money grubbing parasites. Am living this myself as de facto spouse whose husband was killed. Family come out of the woodwork believe me.

Don't you think Heath's parents deserve something? After all they probably made sacrifices to get him to tinsel town in the first place. And I'm sure they would want Matilda to be looked after, coz they love their grandaughter !

I think matilda should get some of the money but not all of it, look what money did to her father it certainly didn't bring him happiness

I think it is a very painful subject for both his families. I think that his daughter will be looked after either way it goes. God bless him and his family.

Matilda should get it ALL!! NOT the ledger family! Put 80% in trust till she is 18 the rest is for her now and her upbringing.

I agree with GoldDragonLady, I'm sure Heath's parents and sisters will put enough money aside for Michelle and into trust for Matilda. She is family after all.

His ex should get 20% for the upbringing of his daughter and the daughter should get 80% put in a trust fund for when she is older.

give mum 25% and child 75% at 18, take from fund up to 25% till 18.proceeds 1/2 left for her at 18-21.

it should go to his daughter in trust with michelle no arguments .everyone should leave the dead alone
debbie townsend (4/09/2008 3:15:00 PM) | Mark As Inappropriate
Michelle should receive some. As for Matilda, there should be a sum put aside for when she turns 18. Also an allocation for her upbringing and education - only fair as it would have occurred had Heath still been with us.

give half to the ex to bring up daughter and the rest put in trust for daughter

In my opinion, ledgers daughter should get a lump sum out of his estate and placed in trust untill she turns 25 years old, it is only fair that she should inherit from her father's estate.

I think his daughter should get most of his estate. Put it in a trust til shes 21 or something.

The Ledger Series, as I'm beginning to think of this sad event is beginning to bring the old saying of "Flogging a Dead Horse". Enough already, he's dead.
