Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have admitted they are looking forward to seeing how their characters develop in the third instalment of High School Musical.

As they prepared to begin shooting the film in Salt Lake City, Utah, Zac - who plays Troy Bolton - told Access Hollywood: "There's a lot more decisions to make. This is the final year, so we're kind of deciding for ourselves what we're going to do with our futures, whether it be college, for my character, basketball is a huge priority. Then there's also his new love, theatre."

"I don't want to give it away but this is the last chapter and our
characters are growing and we're growing as people and we're making tougher decisions," added Zac's co-star Vanessa. "You definitely see relationships blossom. I'm not going to give it away but it's really good."

The stars were also pleased to be back filming in Utah, the setting for the first and second HSM instalments.

"I couldn't imagine filming this movie anywhere else," said Zac. "This is really like our home now. We're thrilled to be back."
